Berhane Wheeler helping schools in Africa with science labs - BBC What's New


Konita Games was featured on BBC for a solution called 'The Lab'. Many schools across Africa don't have science laboratories because of a lack of money. We designed an app to help students carry out simulated science experiments.

Berhane our CEO was pitching the app at Slush, in Finland which is a startup and tech event held annually in Helsinki, Finland. Slush facilitates meetings between the founders of startups and investors such as venture capitalists, accomplished with events such as matchmaking and pitching competitions.

This is where Larry Madowo an International Correspondent, working at BBC at the time discovered Berhane and his startup and interviewed him giving him valuable exposure.

Berhane Wheeler wins the first-ever High School Design Jam competition with his solo-team, Konita Games.

Konita Games won N$12000 out of the 34 for different teams that were in the competition.

Don’t be late! is a mobile mathematics video game tool for iOS and android phones and tablets. It’s a 3D platformer that requires the player to solve math problems to proceed through a series of jumps and obstacles.
